ABOUT
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on file is catured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” ~ Aaron Siskind
WHAT WE DO
We specialize in maternity, newborn, baby and childrens portraiture. Custom portraiture is a unique experience. There is no waiting in long lines or crowded rooms of strangers. Instead we strive to make each session a relaxing, personalized experience with the focus on you and most importantly, your child. Since we only schedule one session per day you can be assured that our attention is solely on the details of your session. Sessions are never rushed and leave plenty of time for you, your baby or child to take small breaks when needed. They typically last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Longer for newborn sessions. Expect to have fun, to allow your child to have fun and to see Tina on the floor playing with your child. You will never hear Tina ask your child to “say cheese”. In fact you’ll hear Tina sing songs, act goofy and talk to you child while waiting patiently for the perfect time to snap the shutter to capture that timeless moment, genuine expression and all the little things you love about your child.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
This is me - Tina Nitz - the person behind the camera. I am a pretty simple person. I love a good fitting pair of jeans and a comfortable t-shirt, happy songs, listening to my boys giggle and Dr. Pepper. I cannot stand mayonnaise, get frustrated with heavy traffic, and greatly dislike early mornings (although they are beautiful to photograph). And of course there is nothing better than having a camera in hand to capture my children, my family, my life as it unfolds. To tell the story of an event through images. I love the feeling I get when I look at an image and my heart skips a beat. To feel the emotion I see, to know the personality of the person in the image, and to remember a moment or milestone now frozen in time. These are the things that make my heart smile.
STYLE
My style is one that is simple so that we can focus the attention of your portrait on the faces, expresssions, emotions and true essence of each individual and family we photograph. I truly believe that a portrait should not only help you remember what you child looked like, but help you remember who they are. Which is why you will see very little props used in our portaits (of course we do use some chairs, baskets, hats and other fun items to add variety). My goal with each session is to capture the personality, emotion and true spirit of your child. The essence of whom they are at any particular stage in their life so that when you look back on your images in years to come you will remember those little things about your child - how tiny she was as a curled up newborn, those cute “rolls” that form as she’s learning to sit up, those eyes, those first steps, those toothless childhood grins, the way he’s not your “baby” anymore. To capture these moments, these little things, to freeze them in time to be remembered and cherished for a lifetime.
