Newborn smiles |{Jacksonville newborn portraits}

I know… I know… they say they are not true smiles at all and the old wives tales will say “it’s gas”. Honestly I don’t really know what makes a newborn smile in his sleep but I like to think they are dreaming about something magical. What? Who knows. But it makes me smile all the same. I could be having a REALLY bad day and see an image of a newborn smiling in his sleep and I’m happy again.
There is just something about it - see… you are scrolling now and found the image I’m talking about and now you have a smile on your face too! It’s contagious I tell you!
This little man came to visit me this week and he’s so cuddly sweet and cute. He had the longest eyelashes I think I’ve ever seen on a newborn baby this age. Then I noticed the same eyelashes on dad… so hopefully this little guy will get to keep those long lashes!!
Enjoy your sneak peek mom and dad. It was a pleasure to meet you and your new addition! (and yes, everything is now washed and cleaned up including my shirt :) )

You may recognize this sweetie as he’s been a Little Things Plan member for a bit now. We did his newborn session and then his 4 month session and now he’s about 7 months old and just on the verge of crawling like lightening!!! That boy could MOVE and he really hasn’t even gotten the hang of the crawling thing yet. He’s so cute and he tries so hard to go somewhere fast and does more rocking and swaying (and a couple face plants) than getting anywhere fast. He was SO cute and he had me laughing and giggling the whole session. But even with all that movement we captured some great images of him. I just adore this age. They are quick but WOW the personalities that are starting to bloom!!!

I am SO behind on my sneak peeks so I hope mom will forgive me for not getting this out as quickly as I would have liked. But the good news is we have so many adorable shots that now I’m having a hard time deciding what to show as a peek!!! She was just so expressive and I LOVE that about babies this age!! We had a great time playing together and I could just cuddle with her all day long!
Enjoy your sneak peek mom and dad! We’ll see you soon!

I’m sitting here working and editing like a fool tonight and I ran across this image from my session from the peek before this one. I immediately fell in love with it and I had to share it because I felt such emotion as I was editing and looking at it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This sweetie that decided she didn’t want to sleep a few days ago came back to visit. Guess what? She decided she didn’t want to sleep again. I told mom and dad that I have never worked with a newborn of this age that just out right didn’t want to sleep. She wasn’t fussy or anything - she just wasn’t wanting to drift off. I guess she liked my company or something. hehe. I will admit I’ve never worked harder at getting a one week old to sleep - even my own kids!! We were finally able to get her to drift off for a few images and I’m so glad she did because I am totally and completely in love with the images we captured. Even the one of mom and dad with her eyes wide open I love! Cannot wait to share the rest of them!!!

Another addition to our Little Things Baby Plan - oh how I love and adore all of these babies joining the plan!!! I get so excited on the phone when mom decides to join the plan as I know I’ll get to watch these little ones grow up right before my eyes. And THAT is what makes my heart smile and why I do what I do. I am often asked “do you work with weddings, seniors, etc” and my answer is always that I am exclusively a baby and child photographer. Just meeting these little ones and watching them grow they become a part of me, of who I am and become family to me. Yeah, I’m getting all sentimental on you but I cannot help it. I love my job - what else can I say?
And this little one is no exception. Mom and dad were awesome and the baby just made my day!! So sweet, so cute, so full of life!! I cannot wait to watch her grow up. :) Enjoy your peek mom and day… we’ll see you soon!!
OH SO CUTE!!!

LOOK at those eyes!!! Don’t they just make you melt??

hehe… love a little girl in a tutu!!!

BEAUTIFUL mom and her sweetie.
And a new background and basket (you know not a single baby gets away without having a stay in a basket!)

A new member of our Little Things Baby Plan - meet this precious little boy. Isnt he cute!?? I know mom has been anxiously awaiting her sneak peek and it took me a bit to get to the blog to post these. Had a crazy couple of days at the end of last week and just ran out of time to get them on the blog :) But here are a couple from our session! We had a blast and wore this little guy out I’m sure.
This first one is my absolute favortite from the entire session!!

This one makes me giggle…

And last but not least I love this one too….

Facebook images, etc

Facebook is the thing of today. Seems everyone and their brother is on Facebook - me included as well as Nitz Photography. I often get asked by many of you if I could upload and “tag” some images from your session so that you can share with friends and family. And the answer to that is OF COURSE!!!! I do my very best to grab some of your favorites that were ordered as well as a few of my favorites from your session and tag them for you! The only thing I require is that the copyright information remain intact and that you do not crop them from their originals that were uploaded. Please remember that scanning of your images to use for FB and other purposes, even just to share with friends and not print, is a direct violation of the client agreement that was signed during your session as well as a violation of Federal Law. If you would like to have a few images just for FB purposes just give me a ring or shoot me an email to let me know (most times I do this quickly after your ordering session but sometimes it can take me a couple days)
Lost tooth #1 of the top teeth
July 17, 2009 | Filed Under Misc | Leave a Comment
It’s been wiggly for quite some time. Today during lunch he bit down on his corndog (yes, he loves those things) and it really up. By dinner it was hanging. In Target tonight we walked around with a napkin b/c I was certain it was going to come out at any time just because he couldn’t keep his hands off of it. “It feelth funny mom” he was saying as we walked through the store. Thing is so loose he talks like it’s not there anyway. We finally got home and he said “I want it out” … um.. ewww… but ok. I have to break from the story quickly to tell you that I’ll change dirty diapers any day but pulling teeth grosses me out. You never think when you decide to have children that one day you would be pulling teeth from their heads. Anyway, we get home and he wants it out. Money was a factor I’m sure - after all the tooth fairy pays a little extra for those two front teeth. So I sit down, grab some tissue and tell him that I’m just going to see how wiggly it really is before I pull it. I reach in, touch the tooth, it falls out. Literally falls into my hand. He doesn’t have a clue. So I sit there pretending I’m seeing how wiggly it is and I say “ok, I’m going to count to three and we’ll pull it out. 1…. (and he tenses up and begins to freak) 2… then I start laughing and he gets mad at me and I have to tell him it’s already out b/c he’s getting made and TOTALLY freaking out on me. Then he’s all excited!!!
So here is my lil’ peanut getting ever so big every day with one less tooth in his head (and to make it so much better since the tooth was just hanging there anyway it wasnt all that gross!!! Score one for mom)

And before you ask - no I don’t usually whip out a background and lights for a lost tooth but it was already up from today’s session and things were set so I figured it was quick and easy to sit him down and take a shot that way - because I know some of you are gonna get me for using my “big lights” for this LOL!
