There is nothing like a little one that has learned how to walk. Well, run that is. Heck with the walking and lets go straight to just about running. And just because you can - no reason to run - just you wanna. Enter the 1 year old now toddler. I swear they are lightening fast. Gotta be quick with those little ones that have learned to walk! But we did just that! Got them quick! This little sweetie has been a member of our Little Things Baby Plan since she was just a week old. And look at her now! Just running like the wind for no apparent reason other than she can now! She can in to enjoy a little portrait taking fun and of course that oh so good first birthday cake! Thanks mom for sharing your sweet angel with me her first year! I’m looking forward to watching her grow her second year!

A lesson in pictures - and other information for the week

I’ve learned a valuable lesson this weekend. Yesterday we went to the Jacksonville air show. Yes, we had a great time and it was AWESOME! There is nothing like the smell of jet fuel LOL! Watched some jets fly by, watched some stunts with some smaller planes and of course watched the ever incredible Blue Angels fly in their formation. But guess what? I decided I was going to leave my camera at home because honestly with that big zoom lens on it the thing is REALLY heavy. I was kicking myself all day, all the way home and even laying in bed last night I was still mad at myself.

So.. from now on I’m bringing it. I don’t care if I have to go to the ER at the end of the day b/c my arms and back are broken from carrying it around for 5 or 6 hours because by gosh by golly I will have some great pictures to show for it.

Lesson of Monday: always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS bring your camera!!!

On another note tomorrow is the Wards Creek Elementary School Spooktacular and Business Expo. Plan on being there as it will be LOADS of fun!! Lots of local small businesses to check out and fun stuff for the kids to enjoy as well. To top it off I’ll be in MY Halloween costume so be sure to stop by and say hello. We’ll be selling the WCE certificates if you would like to purchase yours that evening and we’ll also be doing a raffle for a FREE set of holiday cards as well (the WCE certificate and free holiday cards cannot be used together… sorry guys.. just too good of a deal)

And mark your calendars for the Holiday Open House on Nov 2nd. Come and get some of your holiday shopping done early this year. It will be held at the Heritage Landing Amenities Center from 2 - 5PM. More details coming soon as well as your personal e-vite!!! A few people that I know will be there will be Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Premier Jewelry, Sofia’s Jewel Yard, and of course yours truly. A few others as well. Gift certificates for portraits make a GREAT holiday gift!!

Halloween!!

I’m sad to say that our Halloween party and portrait day didn’t get the turn out I was hoping for or expected. :( Only a few people were able to make the day but at least we got a few goodies to give to Helping Hands that they can pass out to those in need. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to do it up REALLY big so we have more to give back to the community. For those of you that made it out! THANKS!!! It’s greatly appreciated. For those that didn’t… we certainly missed you. I know a few of you emailed and forgot - which is my fault for not sending out the reminder! ACK! Live and learn lessons for the future.

Did I scare you???

In Preparation for our Halloween Party this afternoon I grabbed my youngest in his costume and let him play “scary ghost” for a few moments before people arrived. I hope people arrive… I completely forgot to send out the reminder this week!!!

Jacksonville Newborn Photography - a sneak peek!

One week old… I LOVE it when they come in this early!!! So fresh, so new - so wide awake??? Usually not but this little guy was pretty much open eyed through most of our session. We finally did get him to doze off for a bit and were able to mold and squish him to our heart’s content!

This session was one of the sessions from my newborn call out!!! SO I got to play a bit in the beginning and capture some fun images with mom and dad. So excited to have these! Thanks MOM AND DAD!!! You guys were troopers through our marathon session. I hope you enjoy your peek! I have a lot more images to work through !!

Another family portraits… yes, it’s that time of year again :) Speaking of… I need to schedule my own family portrait soon!!!

This is a sweet family that decided to do a quick family portrait as a part of the little one’s Little Things Baby Plan. We always allow one of the sessions in a baby plan to also become a sibling and family session as well. Seeing as the holidays are right around the corner this was perfect timing!!!

And the brothers together were hilarious when we got them up on the stool. I love watching them interact and love capturing those moments between them when they are not always looking straight at the camera… like this one…

and of course the giggles!!!

It’s that time of year.. when the world falls in love… every song you hear seems to say… “Merry Christmas!”

Well, it’s not only pumpkin time but it’s family portrait time!!! Time to head into the studio to have your family portrait created for the wall, for holiday gift giving and of course for your HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS CARDS!!! So many new designs this year and I’m so excited about them all. And to sneak a little peek at this sweet family!!!!

Well, it’s that time of year again. Time to head out and try to find that perfect pumpkin at the patch. I hate to inform everyone of this but 10 year old boys just really do not like posing with pumpkins for pictures. I wonder why??? How can you not enjoy sitting in the middle of a bunch of giant orange pumpkins?? I don’t get it. Apparently my oldest is “too old” for pumpkin portraits these days. And we all know the little one has never been into looking in any way, shape or form towards the camera. So unfortunately this year I didn’t get much at all in the way of pumpkin patch pictures. I may have to take them back with some bribery just so I can get some more shots because these are just not going to cut it for me this year. :) But I wanted to share the very few I got anyway!

BUT - pumpkins themselves sit quiet and still with no complaining.. so they get to be seen first
