Home Galleries

Have you seen the new Home Galleries? These were supposed to be done and put up in the spring time but some things and life kind of got in the way and while they have been here all along they just haven’t been put up on the website to share. So I’m officially announcing the arrival and availability of the Home Galleries!
So what is a Home Gallery? Think of this - have you ever seen those wonderfully arranged art and/or portrait pieces hanging on the walls? You look at them and think how great it would be to be able to do that in your own home with your child’s portraits? Well, now you can with a little help from Nitz PHotography.
Home Galleries consist of a variety of sizes arranged in various ways and patterns to create a unique and perfect look to display your portraits. Here is a sample of one I did using the little newborn’s portraits from below. Go take a peek at the rest of them by visiting the website www.nitzphotography.com Click on Specail Creations and then on Home Galleries! I’ll be adding these officially to the current Product Guide as soon as I can but they are ready and available NOW (and could possibly be July’s special - hint hint)
Ahhh… toddlers
June 29, 2008 | Filed Under Misc | 3 Comments
I swear we need to find a way to bottle the “toddler energy” and sell it. We’d put those energy drink people out of business fast! Don’t you think.
This lil angel came in over the weekend. I’ve been photographing her and her family since she was 5 weeks old and I have enjoyed every last second of it… including this last session mom. I know you were a little worn out and worried when you left. Welcome to the toddler years my friend!
They are busy busy busy to say the least. But nothing… I mean NOTHING beats the belly laughs.
Is this not hilarious? OH I smile each time I see it!

Of course we captured one looking a little more forward too.

And the infamous “you want me to stay where??”

And the oh so popular “um… yeah.. don’t think so Ms. Tina!”

But in reality, through all the busy toddler stuff we captured some great images and here are some of my favorites.

And my free advertising image! LOL… notice the pen???

More squishiness of love

Is squishinesseven a word? I guess not since my spell checker is giving me the dreaded red squigly underline… but I like it so it’s staying. Squishiness can be a word.
So I decided I wanted to learn to crochet a hat. So the night before this little one came in for his session I hit youtube and learned how to crochet. Well… I tried. I couldnt figure it out the “old fashioned way” but I remembered I had purchased some looms a while back. Went searching for those and hit youtube again for another instructional video.
here are the results:

And if that just doesnt melt your heart then how about this one. No cute little hat but look at this cute little grin we captured!!!

I had the most fun with this little guy. He was such a sound sleeper he just let us do our thing and never really made a peep once we got him to sleep. Thank goodness for a super warm studio when doing newborn portraits. Unfortunately mom, dad and myself were sweating before the session was completed but well worth it!
Here are a few more of my favorites!!

Enjoy mom and dad! I’m working hard and we’ll see you soon. Congratulations again on the arrival of your little one!
Little Girl’s Portraits

Are SO much different than working with little boys. Both are so fun but this week I got to play with tutus!!!! And long hair!! And all that other giggly, girly stuff!
Grandma brought her granddaughters in for a portrait session and I’m so thrilled that she did. I had the best time working with the girls and I hope they enjoyed it as well. I know we wore them out and they were exhausted by the end of the session
But we had fun so that is ok.
Sneak peek with SO many great images that I had a hard time narrowing it down to just these 5. I swear I could have done a sneak peek on every image we took because they are all favorites of mine!
Enjoy!!!

More babies on the way!
June 23, 2008 | Filed Under Misc | 2 Comments
I don’t know what it is about the summer months but I sure do have a lot of babies on the way. Some opted not to do a maternity session, others opted TO do a maternity session (which is great because I love it!) I swear I have about 8 newborns on the way in the next month. I’m so excited!!!! One maternity just called and said baby arrived last Thursday so they are heading in this week for his newborn session! How exciting!!!
Here’s another little one on the way. Don’t you just love her t-shirt? I don’t know if you can read it well on the blog image but it says “bake at 98.6 degrees for nine months” Of course I had to get a shot of that!

This young couple had the most chemistry in front of the camera that I have ever seen. It was great!

Tried something new for a maternity portrait and a silhouette. I added dad to be in also!

A tender moment thinking about baby…

And of course the “Goddess” image. I love doing this one. Just reminds me of, well… a goddess. I think a woman’s pregnant body is just beautiful and miraculous. Don’t you?

A beautiful mommy to be

I LOVE working maternity sessions. Just LOVE IT!!!!!
This lovely mom to be came in and I was blown away. Isnt she just beautiful? - inside and out I tell you. I’m excited to get working on the rest so I can send over your presentation by the end of the week.
Here is one we thought up. You can see “baby A” Isnt this fun?
I love this one. Just a sweet moment between takes really. We did a more “posed” one after this but this one is my favorite. Eyes closed, relaxed and thinking about the upcoming arrival.
and of course some giggles too.

And I absolutely LOVE this one! … I think this is my favorite!

OH MAN! I wish I had pictures of this!

So those of you that know me well are pretty familiar with the fact that I’m addicted to Dr. Pepper. Yeah.. I can’t help it. The stuff is good. So after lunch today (I was good and had water with lunch) I call down to my oldest and ask him to grab me a Dr. Pepper and bring it to my office. He says “sure mom” and I hear little feet running to the kitchen. Usually I then hear him walking up the stairs while asking if he can have a sip. Well… today… instead of that I get this SCREAM from the kitchen. Mommy instincts set in and I jump up and run down. He’s still yelling and going “MOM .. HELP mom!!!!” over and over. Yeah.. I’m in a panic. SO I get down there and what do I see????? And this is where I wish I had pictures.
Apparently he couldnt get the bottle out of those platic bottle holder thingies they put the bottles in. So he decided to cut it off. In the process he punctured the bottle. Yeah.. you see where this is going right? Dr. Pepper is now squirting ALL OVER my kitchen from this tiny hole in the bottle and the boys are in there trying to catch it with their mouths. HA!
So… needless to say my kitchen is now sticky. I need to mop. FUN.
Because I promised

A brand new little one
June 14, 2008 | Filed Under Misc | 5 Comments
This sweet little guy came in this week. He wasn’t so thrilled to be here in the beginning and it took some time to get him to calm down and drift off to sleep. We had to stop a bit for snacks and cuddles with mom.
I’d like to take a moment before our official sneak peek to chat about the newborn sessions. Newborn sessions are best done before baby is 2 weeks of age. Many people ask why… well, to be honest they are so much easier to work with when they are so fresh and so new. They still have that precious newborn curl as they have yet to discover that they can stretch out. Which means we can really capture that newness while the are still curled up. They also tend to sleep better while we move them as they have yet to be completely aware of their environment. It’s so wonderful to catch this phase of their new little lives because before you know it they will change.
For our newborn sessions, we also be sure to take the time that is needed to capture this fresh, new life. Just like we did with this little guy. When mom and baby arrived he was sound asleep. But getting him out of the car seat and ready for his session he woke up and realized he was a bit hungry. So we took some time for him to nurse and cuddle with mom. When you schedule your newborn session you are the ONLY session I schedule for that day. That way we can be sure to take all the time that we need - whether that be an hour or three. Even if we have to take 10 “snack” breaks for baby.
I love being able to devote so much time into my newborn sessions to help you capture this time that will be gone in the blink of an eye.
So without further ado… meet this little guy. Isn’t he precious? Our session with him lasted about 3 hours and well worth the time we spent.
A little funny one at the beginning of our session. Just makes me laugh.

And a little trifold birth annoucement that I put together using his images. I adore this layout!

Do you have a graduate?
June 12, 2008 | Filed Under Misc | Leave a Comment
A graduate from 5th grade that is? Someone leaving the elementary school for the middle school scene?
If you do, give me a call. I would LOVE to help you capture this special and exciting time for your child. I’m offering a complimentary session to the first mom or dad that calls with a child this age… one for a boy and one for a girl. All I ask is for a signed model release to use the images on the website, blog and for an upcoming mailer. (all regular studio session policies still apply - but you get your session for FREE - a $125 savings)
