Just for fun

The kids are on Spring Break… and I decided (for some odd reason) that my oldest needed a camera. So I went digging in the office closet for my old point and shoot digital camera I had about 5 years ago (or so). IT STILL WORKS! We had to dig some more to find the charger for the battery but we did. He’s been having fun taking pictures of stuff all around the house.
So a few nights ago I decided that it would be fun to get out of the house and drive around to find some fun things to photograph. I invited him to go with and off we went. I found some neat things… he found some weeds… and of course we stopped to take pictures of them. We are still playing with the images that he took but I thought I would share with you the ones that I took - side of the road weeds and all.
This is the church on the corner before you reach my neighborhood. I’ve always loved the look of it so we stopped to grab an image.

then a b/w of the steeple. I don’t know why but I love steeples.

the light streaming through the trees. We thought it looked cool… guess I’m not a sun flare photographer… need to work on that.

If you are from around this area you know about Buddy Boys. The lovely little “store” and gas station just past Outback Crab Shack. It’s often a pit stop for us when we need to fill up the car. They have a feed store in the back and it really is a neat and old country place… complete with roosters that walk around and crow. Unknown to us was the fact that these roosters climb (can roosters climb?) up in the tree. HA! There were 3 of them up there just crowing away as the sun was about to set. I think they were a bit confused.

Another cute little church we found out off Pacetti Rd. Abandoned with no trespassing signs so we had to stick the lens through the fence to get this shot. But it’s too cute!
Then we spotted the “weeds”

and other miscellaneous side of the road things that were growing.
Including these cute little flowers
Hopped back in the car and drove some more to find some horses grazing.
and a hawk that decided to land on the fence post. Of course when we tried to get closer her flew away…

Then the sun began to really get low in the sky and we grabbed a few shots of the orange glory of the setting sun. MAN I love this sight.

And that was my evening.
Sneak Peek!

Sometimes you have one of those days. You know what I mean? one of “those” days… and not only do adults have those kinds of days but so do babies. And this day this lil’ girl had one of those days. Luckily we were able to capture big brother and a handful before she melted down. She’ll be coming back in a bit to finish up her session… but I wanted to give mom a sneak peek of her sweet little boy and one or two of her sweetie lil’ girl before our reshoot… well.. our “shoot additional” I guess it will be.

Tutus and Teddy Bears…

and just the teddy bears this time.
Thanks to this mom that brought in her two little boys to help me out in a pinch. We were able to grab a few shots to use on the postcard (seen below) as well as a couple other really cute shots! Mom - I’m getting your emails but it seems that you are not getting mine. Actually…. anyone with a comcast.net account is not getting my emails - including my own family members! ACK! So yes… thanks to this mom she will get an 8×10 of each image that was used in the postcard (one of the baby will be 5×10 b/c that is the only way I can crop it)
Here are those plus a few others that we were able to capture in our 10 minutes. Thanks again!

I just had to share this image b/c it’s just too precious not to share it. Being in Kindergarten is hard work and learning to read is the hardest of all. At least that is what he says. Reading has been a challenge for him but we are working on it. He sat down with his book he got from the “wibary” and was reading. As long as I leave him alone he does ok… try to help and I get the “it’s too hard” and “I can’t do it” SIGH… what’s a mom to do?
But I was able to snap a few images of him as he was working through some words and this is my favorite one.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. My guys are on Spring Break this week and I’m planning on taking it easy. I’ll still be available if you need me but we’ll be doing some fun day trips here and there. So please forgive me if it takes just a bit longer to get in touch if you leave a message.

eOur Tutus and Teddy Bears Little Edition is back again this year but with a twist. I decided we needed to include the boys this time around because nothing is cuter than a boy in overalls with his beloved teddy. Of course little girls dressed in pink tutus holding their beloved teddy ranks right there with it. So I decided to put them together and we are booking now. We already have a few people booked and space is limited.
So call NOW to book your session. Details below and just look at how cute!
When: May 31, 2008
Where: The Nitz Photography studio
$150 will include your mini session and a gift portrait package. All Tutu and Teddy Bear LE images will be hosted and ordered online. Special pricing will be available for additional portraits. Clothing is available in limited sizes.
Reservations are required and are on a first call, first scheduled basis.
Girls will be offered pink leotards and tutus. Boys will be offered overalls. However, if you have overalls at home feel free to have your little boy wear them (girls can do overalls too if they like) Jeans and no shirts would work great as well. Please call me if you have any questions.
Have a friend that might want to join you? Be sure you call together and we can book you back to back.
3 boys

OK… I have a confession. When mom called and scheduled this session with 3 boys (ages 7, 5 and 7 months) I was honestly a bit worried. Having just 2 boys of my own I knew what I was in for. Not a bad thing… I just know boys and they are goofy, silly and well.. BOYS!
Well… I have to admit I survived and we had a complete blast! Maybe it was because I’m used to my boys and the fun that they are but this was one of the easiest sessions (mom is shaking her head now… I can feel it).
It was a great pleasure to meet you all and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the images. We’ll see you soon, but for now enjoy your little sneak peek.
My favorite of the 3 boys together. This one has got to go big in the living room somewhere mom and dad!
The oldest…
The middle…
And a few of the lil’ guy…

QUICK!!! I need a 7 month old boy!
April 10, 2008 | Filed Under Misc | Leave a Comment
I decided this year that we will include little boys in our Tutu’s and Teddybears Little Edition. Of course the girls will be in the tutu’s… and we’ll have overalls, bare skin or blue jeans for the boys. Thing is… I don’t have a recent little boy in overalls to use for my postcard that I was getting ready to order.
SOOOO!!!
I need someone out there with a little boy at 7 months old and another one around 2 years old to come play for a few minutes one day so I can grab some images as samples. No charge to you and I’ll give you a free 8×10 of whatever image ends up being used on the postcard! But I need to do this ASAP!
The FIRST person that calls me with a 7 month old boy and the FIRST person that calls me with a 2 year old boy gets my undivided attention. A signed model release will be required (basically permission to use the images on the postcard). Mom’s with 7 monthers - baby needs to be able to sit unassisted and enjoy having his photograph taken. Mom’s of 2 year olds… lil’ one needs to enjoy having his photograph taken and be somewhat outgoing since it’s going to be a quick kind of thing. These will be a couple of shots and not a full session.
Call NOW! Operators are standing by. (kidding… but yeah.. I’m here)

I just got word and the lil’ guy is doing GREAT! When he is awake (sleeping a lot from the pain meds) he is happy and wanting to eat. Just "himself" for the most part I guess. His labs are looking great and he’s going potty which means he can eat!!! (which he’s thrilled to do I’m sure).
Please continue to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
My heart is doing flips. I’m so excited to hear he is doing so well. Kid is a fighter that is for sure. I just wish I could hug him!
