Have you heard? The 6th annual Jacksonville Baby shower is being held this weekend, April 6, 2008 from 11AM - 5PM at the Marriot on Salisbury Road.

So what is it? It’s a GREAT BIG baby shower full of businesses that cater to expectant and new moms as well as mom’s of babies and young children. There will be lots of fun booths to visit and lots of shared information. I do believe that each person gets a "free gift" as well.

I’ll be there and many of your portraits will be there on display as well. So come on down, stop by the booth and say hello!

curly heads are just too cute!

This cutie has been coming over to “play” since she was 6 months old. She’s now 2 and my oh my her little curls get me every time. I just love them!! She didn’t have them at her first or second session. I think it was her 3rd and 1 year old session that we first saw the cute curls.

Hangin’ with the chicks

hehe… Have you ever seen such cute lil’ things before? I personally have never been this close to a baby chick before… much less been able to hold one. OH HOW FUN!

My youngest, Jason, has the most awesome teachers for his Kindergarten class. They do so much with him and their class it’s hard for me to keep up! They were able to borrow and incubator and we found a local Feed store that donated some fertilized eggs to the class. WELL.. this past Wednesday these lil’ yellow puff balls hatched! You walk into the classroom and here “Peep.. peep…peep”. I swear it is the cutest thing ever!

So of course I needed some snapshots of these guys (or girls).

They were hilarious. Before we arrived there were quite a few kids in there holding and playing with them. They were exhausted for their mini photo shoot. They would stand, close their eyes and their heads would slowly lower and then BAM they would fall over, startle, peep a whole lot and repeat. CUTEST THINGS EVER!

I love this little girl. I love her smile and her many faces. I love her spunk and her character. She was so much fun to work with and so very full of personality. And my could she talk! This age always cracks me up because of their sweet innocence. They will tell the family’s deep dark secrets and think nothing of it. No… I didn’t learn any deep dark secrets about this family but she did tell me lots of stories.

I hear it many times… people tell me their friends saw their portraits and want to book a session… but life gets in the way and if you are like me … well… it just doesn’t get done. So here is a little referral incentive for you and for your friends that have talked about booking a full session.

A BIG sneak peek

This session was one of those that was won thanks to the stock the blog contest! And man I’m so glad she won because we had a BLAST! We played for longer than a normal session and I have so many images to show mom that I think she might just get a bit overwhelmed!

I attempted to grab my usual few images to share for the sneak peek but to be honest I had a very hard time picking my few favorites. So I’m showing a ton of favorites! Enjoy mom! We’ll see you soon.

Then we sat down for a few and look at her holding her toes. I love it when kids do that.

I think this one is one of my all time favorites from the session though.

and I couldn’t let her leave without trying on my new hat!

OH WAIT… there’s MORE!  One of the announcements for later today is about my new "brick" wall that I have in the studio to use. Isn’t it great???

HAPPY EASTER

Yeah.. ok.. so it’s a day late. Our weekend was like a whirlwind and I never got to the computer to wish you all a very Happy Eater. I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I know we did although I’m VERY tired and sore now. Spent Friday evening at soccer practice where the kids were making goals (well, trying to) and when they missed I chased the ball down and got it back to the coach. Woke up Saturday morning and was kinda sore from that. Saturday we did 2 soccer games. Jason’s team won (YAY!) and he scored a point (DOUBLE YAY!).  Mathew’s team tied with the others but they played a heck of a game. I’m not used to seeing such action! Then did a session with a spunky and oh so cute 4 year old! Sunday we went to church and had lunch with the family at my mom’s house. Came home and began spring cleaning of the flower beds. Pulling weeds, overgrown plants (and those that have been to the studio lately know what I’m talking about with the overgrown plants) So those are gone, weeds are almost gone, bushes are trimmed and now I have some new stuff to plant as well as to mulch the beds. SO yeah.. I’m tired and sore today! But that’s not going to stop me from playing with the 3 year old that’s heading in later for his session. Can’t wait. This age just makes me laugh out loud so much!

A very happy 1 year old

Happy Baby!!!!  Oh what fun we had. This was his first time having professional portraits created and he had a fantastic time (so did mom and grandma too - and me!) He’s such a cutie… don’t you think? I cant wait to show this family all of the images from the session. So very many to share!

I LOVE it when these little ones suck their fingers and then look right at me with those big eyes. Funny how he has two middle fingers… not the thumb.. but fingers. SO precious.
