An active lil’ guy!

Toddlers… toddler boys I might add… are wonderful creatures. So full of energy and curiosity! And the things they come up with to say just make me laugh out loud. I could have the worst day… throw me a 2 or 3 year old and have a conversation with them and my mood is 100% better. They just crack me up. Now if it were my own toddler… that’s a whole other story.

This sweet little guy came in this week and he was no different. Great to chat with, so full of curiosity and energy… didn’t want to have a conversation with me though. Was much more interested in my stuffed snowmen (which we luckily were able to keep out of most of our images) and my "refrigerator" - which is my tall white cabinet in the studio where I keep my special stuff like little wooden cars and airplanes. MAN this kid was smart. I can usually get by with getting out a fun prize or two before they catch on. Not this one… all it took was one time for me to go to the "refrigerator" and he was wanting to open the door to see what other goodies I had.

Had a great time with this little guy! Cant wait to see him again! See you soon! Until then.. just a couple to hold you over until our next meeting.

Fresh…

We had another brand new and fresh little life in here this week. This little guy reminded me so very very very much of my own little boy when he was born. They weighed about the same, same hair, same features, same squeaks and groans. Kinda made me a bit sad since mine is now 5 and a half and in Kindergarten.  I so enjoy photographing newborns.  So much life and so much potential in a little bitty package.

So mom and dad and big sissy… sneak peek of your newest addition and a LOT more to add to it when you come in to view the rest. It’s going to be a tough decision as there are a lot!

Why is it that a photographer’s child HATES to have his portrait taken? I wish I knew some magic and I really wish some of you could be here when it’s happening b/c you would be laughing at me. The things I promise just to get them to sit for me (can we call it a bribe?)

But in the end I pull them up one by one on the computer and for every say 15-20 shots I get one that brings a tear to my eye. I edit and I enjoy… today I’m going to share those with you. I’m sure you’ll be seeing these printed up and on my walls the next time you bring your little ones in for a session.

I’m a bad blogger…

For some reason I just cannot remember to update this blog lately! I’ve missed some sneak peeks but I do have one coming up in a moment b/c I PROMISED I would get it up this weekend.

But.. for the new year I have LOTS of things that will be changing and one of them is to keep current on this blog and to make it a bit more personable. Sharing my thoughts, my feelings, my life and of course current happenings at the studio, sneak peeks and other fun stuff. Including a "blast from the past" special (details to come soon).
