I love my job! I love doing what I do b/c it makes my heart smile! I LOVE watching children grow up before my eyes. It’s just such a great feeling! I’ve been photographing this little guy since before he was even born! Mom came in for a maternity session 2 years ago. Now this wee baby is 2 years old and full of energy! AND mom has another one on the way due next month that she has graciously blessed me with the opportunity to photograph as well. I wish I had the old images of this little man to show you just how much he has grown. He just looks like a little man to me now! Just a few to share…
I have to say this is the first time this basket has ever been used sideways. Great job figuring that one out for me!!! I’ll have to remember this!
OH.. and sitting backwards in a chair is every toddlers greatest dream I think. I guess it’s b/c us "moms" are always saying "turn around and sit straight" so when I let them sit backwards in chairs when they come in their little eyes just light up!
And the two finger suck… he’s been doing this since he was teeny tiny. I think it’s just adorable!!

Well.. school is officially 100% in session and we close out the first full week tomorrow. I still cant believe how fast the summer just seemed to fly by. Looking back now it was just a blink. The boys were bored, they argued and drove me batty quite a bit but I certainly did get used to them being home. Today was Jason’s first official full day of Kindergarten. Can you believe that??? I know I cant. Those of you that have been with me from the early beginnings of my business will remember him being just a baby when I got started. Today I dropped of my baby into the hands of someone I don’t know. It’s so hard letting go, isn’t it? Of course my oldest just runs off like I’m a "bother" anymore. Yeah… I know he loves me and he’s a soft, sweet and lovable little boy but we hit school grounds and he’s unbuckled and ready to jump out the door to get to class before I’ve even put the car in park. I’m so glad that he loves school as much as he does. It makes a mom proud… he loves to read and ADORES doing math problems for fun. But the little guy?? Well I think he’ll be a different story. Funny how different two kids can be.
But about the title of this entry. Today we went to the neighborhood pool (nope.. no pictures… sorry I was playing mommy fish) and we were about to leave. We walk past a small sign in the bushes that read "NO ENTRY". Now I see it all the time and of course I can read it, abide by it and don’t think twice about it. But my little one sees it and yells to me "MOM!!! The sign says ‘N’ …. ‘O’ and that says NO" Do you wanna know how incredibly proud I was at that moment. No he’s 5. He knows all his letters, he knows how to spell his name and kinda knows his brothers name from sight but I have never heard him actually read anything. Such a small little word… my heart jumped for joy. My baby is really growing up now. He’s not my baby anymore is he? That brings on so many mixed emotions. I guess the oldest turning 9 will probably get me good soon too… 3rd grade!!! MAN! I think I’m getting old!!!!
My boys… have to share them. I didn’t even get any of my traditional first day of school photos this year b/c learning to get 2 kids ready for school and out the door on time was a whole new ballgame for me! Does it count these were taken last month???

Motherhood

I love working with maternity clients. I love the glow. I love the endless love you can see with a mom for her unborn child. I really love it when the dad to be decides to join in and you can see a connection between the soon to be family of 3. Makes me all mushy inside. And of course I cant wait for the little one to arrive so we can photograph a new life. I love my job.
And so many more guys for you to see when you come in!! I cant wait to show you the rest!

Anyone ever upgrade or purchase a new computer with Vista??? OH It’s BEEN A NIGHTMARE! Crazy thing kept locking up on me or would just close out a program while I was working on something. Quite aggravating when you are trying to edit some portraits ;). But the good news is my internet is finally working right. Had to call them back out to discover a bad "card" or something like that. WHEW!
My computer seems to be doing ok today after doing a little research and changing a few settings. Which means YAY I can work and not get stuck!!
