Taking better pictures of your children…

I have often been asked "what kind of camera do you use? It takes such great pictures!" And while, yes, having a nice camera can help… it’s not the whole story 
There is much more involved in taking pictures than having a nice camera. Which made me begin thinking… maybe I should teach a few tricks (Ok.. they are not tricks.. just some "rules" to follow and some simple techniques) to help others take better pictures of their kids at home.
SOOO>.. I’m thinking of beginning to offer small workshops to teach these tricks, rules and simple techniques… if there is enough interest to do so. All of the details are still swimming around in my head but the basic idea would be this: A hostess (which is required to be a current client of mine that has had a full session with me within the last year) would offer up her home for an evening. Maybe make some light snacks and drinks, etc. Gather some friends and family members with an interest in learning. I would come, bring some "stuff" and share some ideas to help get you on the right track and help get your "at home" images looking super! There would be a small fee for each person that attends to cover my travel costs and time… but in return each guest will receive a small gift certificate good towards prints if they book a session with me. (there will be other fun stuff too… maybe door prizes.. maybe a contest to show what you have learned… maybe ….. hehe… I have lots of ideas floating in my head)
Sound good? Sound fun? OH.. I think so. I love doing what I do and would love to share it…. if you are interested in attending and/or hosting just shoot me an email tina@nitzphotography.com and let me know. If enough interest is there I’ll get working on hammering out the details and let you all know soon when our first workshop will be held. I think it will be a great night away for us moms, some fun times with friends and a great learning experience!
Thoughts and prayers for a little one…

For those of you the come here to visit regularly you have seen images of this sweet little baby boy (and his mom’s maternity as well). This is baby Andrew and he needs your thoughts and prayers. It’s not my place to explain the details but he is in the hospital and recently had some surgery.
Please remember Andrew in your thoughts and/or prayers. He could use a little help …

There is nothing more beautiful than that of a woman’s body when she is expecting. People always speak of the "glow" a woman has and as a "younger" woman I never truly believed in that. During my own pregnancies I REALLY didnt believe in that. Since beginning to photograph women during this special times in their lives I have become a tried, true and firm believer in the "glow". I can see it within each and every mother to be that comes through my doors… the pure happiness, joy and love that each has for their unborn child.. whether it be their first, 3rd or last baby.
This beautiful woman was no exception (with 2 beautiful daughters along as well .. and dad to be too). Wonderful family! I cant wait to meet the new little one… which I hear is another girl!
This one really made me laugh as I was editing it. We asked the girls to kiss the baby… Boy did they ever!

It’s amazing to me… but these two siblings share the same birthday! Obviously a couple years apart, but the same day none the less! How neat is that?
We had a great time playing with balloons and chasing the lil’ guy (man.. he can MOVE cant he mom?) So very sweet though! And this little girl is just so very pretty! Look at that sweet little smile!
and look! We caught a sweet moment between brother and sister!

Little Mr. J. He was not a happy camper while here doing his session. Just not fond of being away from home I guess. In the end though we caught some really great shots of this sweet little guy. Mom… we did ok after all! See you soon.

whose not really all that little… He’s a big boy and boy oh boy can this kiddo make some silly faces. I just love him and could have played all day! Here are a few of those sweet and silly faces.
And it was his birthday!! So we got to play in cake and he was my new best friend after that.

Info on Coffee Table books

I’ve had quite a few inquire about pricing so I’m going to place the pricing here for a bit until I can find some time to update the website and pricing guide with this info.
The coffee table books come in two sizes: 10×10 and 7×7 each with 20 or 30 pages. Pricing is as follows:
10×10 book with 20 pages: $850 or $550 with a $300 portrait enlargement order
7×7 book with 20 pages: $650 or $450 with a $300 portrait enlargement order
Duplicates will recieve a small discount if done exactly the same and in the same size.

A super sweet family

I have had the privelage of photographing this family for a few years now. They have been through thick and thin with me and I only hope they know how much I appreciate them. They have become more like friends to me that clients. Mrs. T… welcome to your sneak peek…
We headed out to the beach and found lots of things to do, to find and a whole lot of fun for Mr. K! I do believe the child should be a fish… he LOVED the water. Ms. K was content just sitting in the sand. BUT I did bring a sea star (did you know they recently changed the name of "starfish" to "sea star" b/c they are not really fish??? My 8 year old informed me of this last week.. who knew??)
Oh we had a blast. The weather somewhat cooperated.. it was a tad windy and we ran out of light at the end as a big ol’ cloud rolled in.. but BOY the kids had fun. I bet the slept well that night.
